Who we are

Webdesign Cheshire is a trading name of Pro Website EOOD, registered in Bulgaria, company no. (EIK) 207221537. Pro Website EOOD is the controller of the personal data described here. We work remotely from the EU and have no UK office. Contact: hello@webdesign-cheshire.co.uk.

What we collect and why

  • The brief form and email: your name, business name, trade, town, email address, optionally your website, phone number and message. We use it to reply with a quote and, if you go ahead, to deliver the work. Legal basis: taking steps before a contract, then the contract.
  • AI chat on the website: the chat assistant answers questions about our services. Each conversation is recorded (your messages, the replies, the page you were on, your IP address and browser) and stored on a server in the European Union; the messages are processed by a language model provider under a data processing agreement and are not used to train models. If you type a phone number or email in the chat, we treat it as an enquiry and a person from the team gets in touch. Conversations without contact details are deleted after 12 months; a conversation with your contact details is kept with your enquiry. The chat keeps a random session id in your browser so the conversation continues between pages; it identifies nobody.
  • Website analytics and cookies: we use Google Analytics to see which pages are read, where visitors come from and whether the brief form is used. Analytics and advertising cookies are off until you choose Accept in the cookie banner; if you choose Reject, Google Analytics does not load at all. We also use the Google Ads tag to count whether an advert led to a brief, a phone tap or an email click. Without your consent it sets no cookies and sends Google only an anonymous, cookieless signal that a conversion happened (Google Consent Mode); if you send the brief form, your email address and phone number are hashed in your browser before Google uses them to match the conversion to the advert. You can change your choice at any time in (also linked in the footer). The only thing stored without asking is your cookie choice itself, kept in your browser so we do not ask again.
  • Spam protection: the form uses a hidden field and a rate limit on our server. Your IP address is held in memory for 10 minutes to stop repeated automated submissions, and is included in the email we receive with your brief.

Business outreach

We sometimes email UK limited companies and LLPs about their website, occasionally with a short concept we have prepared for them.

  • Where the details come from: Google Maps business listings, the business's own website and Companies House.
  • Who we contact: only corporate bodies (limited companies and LLPs), only at business contact addresses they publish themselves, such as info@ or hello@. We never use personal email addresses and we do not email sole traders or partnerships this way.
  • Legal basis: legitimate interests, namely offering a relevant service to a business. Each email says who we are, why we are writing and how to opt out.
  • What we keep: the business name, the contact address we used, the website, our notes and the concept we prepared. It is stored in our CRM, which Pro Website hosts in the EU.
  • How long: if there is no reply within 12 months, the record is deleted.
  • Opting out: reply "unsubscribe" to any email, or write to hello@webdesign-cheshire.co.uk, and we stop within 3 working days. We then keep only a suppression record (the address and the date) so that we never contact you again.

The controller is Pro Website EOOD, registered in Bulgaria, company no. (EIK) 207221537, trading as Webdesign Cheshire. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become a project are deleted after 12 months. Client records are kept for 6 years after the last invoice, as UK tax rules require.

Who we share it with

Only the services we need to run the business: our email provider, our hosting provider, Google Analytics (only if you accept cookies), Google Ads (conversion measurement, cookieless without consent) and our accountant. We never sell or rent your details.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or object to how we use it, by emailing hello@webdesign-cheshire.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
